Africa
As young girls of African descent, the foundation of this program is finding ways to connect with our roots. Each meeting will touch on country and cultural aspects, traditions and overall connection with the continent. As it is vital that our girls establish an in-depth understanding of Africa as the motherland, the entire curriculum includes a constant reflection of the continent and incorporating that into our lifestyles in the United States and how to cultivate that as a community.
Nature
Cocoa Puffs meetings take place at a private residence with lots of outdoor space! Hiking, camping and general outdoor play is interwoven throughout each play date to gain a deep appreciation of the woods. We will also integrate gardening and planting to understand the importance of self reliance and community development.
Self-Concept
Our girls are unique individuals that contribute to a unified collective. Through various activities including meditation, dramatic play, art and reading, they will be exposed to new experiences that help them gain a better understanding of self. This builds on confidence and positive thinking and critical thinking.
Community
Each time the girls meet for a play date, they are cultivating their community. The girls spend time working on various short and long term projects for their immediate circle to enjoy, as well as for various communities throughout the metro Atlanta area.
